Goodbye to a reliable friend...

I am so emotionally drained.... The USAA inspector guy just came out and looked at my car. He said it is definantly totaled. And if we want the money then they will come and take the car. Also, right before the guy was supposed to come Eric was coming home for lunch and the fuel pump died on him about a minute from home. So... I think this is a goodbye to the little blue car.... I think she deserves a propper fairwell...

Dear Little Blue Car,
You have lived for 21 good years... just two years younger than me. You were bought by a wonderful man for his sweet wife. (my grandparents) I know they were good to you, and you made so many trips to and from the store for my sweet grandmother, keeping her safe. I thank you for that! Then two years ago, when I was in need, and grandma was ready to say goodbye you came into my life. I thought you were "unique" looking, and I was glad to have a car for the rest of college. You didn't mind when I spilled my coffee in you, or when I loaded you down with books (and everything else). You put up with my "intersting" style of driving. (Deep down, I knew you were really a sports car) You took me to my first teaching Job and everyone thought you were cute. I always did get funny responses when people saw you. Things like "WOW that takes me down memory lane" or "I thought all of these were gone." or even "I had one of those when I learned to drive." I know that you have been working hard for me and Eric these last few years. We've done everything we could.. replacing many things and keeping you running well. Then, that fateful day a few weeks ago came. You tried your best to keep me safe, and you did a GREAT job. But now, it's time for us to say Thank you and goodbye. Eric and I will always remember our little blue car... we had you when we got married, moved into our first house, and so many other firsts.... I'll always smile when someone talks about a K Car, or when I hear Relient K's song... K Car. In my mind, they must have writted it for you! So this is the end of our time together. You were such a trooper, and I will miss you. Know that even though we are getting a new car, you will always have a place in my heart! Thank you and goodbye!

SO..... I totally started writing that to be funny, and I actually got alittle teary eyed! This will be Eric and I's first big financial move as a married couple... buying a car. There is one in Dallas that we might go look at Saturday. Untill then we are offically a one car family. We can make it... Please pray that while we are in an even bigger crunch now, that the Lord will still lead us to the car he wants us to have, that we will still make responsible descions and that we will be spirt-led. That's all for now... I'm going to try and relax by indulging in some Law and Order: SVU (I know, I'm a nerd), watching my birdies eat from their new feeder out our kitchen window, and clean the house. Thank you (to my 5 readers) for laughing with me while I say goodbye to a friend. :)

PS: Picture of me and Eric in front of the K Car to come....
