Well the time has come... the room is close to completion, the class list have been mailed, and supplies have been bought... these things can only mean one thing, summer has come to an end. I spent this weekend painting some cutie little people chairs and a bookshelf for the classroom. It was fun... I really enjoy painting (furniture and rooms, not actual art work). I am SO proud of the way the chairs turned out. (I will post pictures soon) I painted them bright, fun colors. I hope the kids love them!
Am I ready for school to start...? Yes and No. I know that a while back I had my "boredom" period with summer where I was going crazy. I lived through that and actually had fun. I really did enjoy going to some of the day classes at the gym. I am determined to still go at least 4 times a week! 5:30 classes here I come. It's not as convenient but it will have to work!
Oh the flip side, I am excited to start the year. I am nervous b/c it's hard for me to remember what my class was like those first few weeks of school. Before they got used to me, the rules, the routines. Before I really got to know them. (side note, it's crazy to think that my old kiddos are no longer mine... I don't want want them to be someone elses) I'm having fun thinking about what my new kids are going to be like. It's so much fun getting to know all of their unique personalities and things that make them smile. I'm hoping it will be a good year!
So goodbye summer... it was fun! I'll see you again in 10 months. I'm sure by then, I will be BEGGING for you!
Hello, 10:00 bed time!
PS: Join me in praying for the little ones and mommies of little ones going off to school for the first time... and the not so little ones and their mommies going off to college for the first time. (remember that time, how nervous you were...)
I am praying for your little charges, Bonnie. The Lord has tailor made your class for you. As you teach them, as you well know, they'll be teaching you as well! Isn't that neat?! Love ya, Bonnie!
