Gus Gus!

We have a new addition to our family! No!! I'm not pregnant!! We got a puppy! His name is Gus. He's a lab/basset mix, about 10 months old and AWESOME! We found him on PetFinder.com through an organization called Blue Dog Rescue in Austin. (a great organization by the way!) They foster all of their animals. So, we met Gus (named Flynn then) Wednesday night in Georgetown with his foster parents. We fell in love.. then Friday Emily, his foster mommy dropped him off for our 2 week trial. We have till then to decide if he's right for us, but we are already sold! He's a Bonstead! He is super laid back, which is good for us. He has already been to puppy class, he kind of knows sit and we are working on stay. He is SOO cute when he runs to fetch his squeaky bone! He has adorable big ears and speckled paws that I just can't get enough of!! :) Can you tell that I love him?!?

We left him alone for the first time this morning while we went to church. We have a crate for him, but we are hoping that we won't have to use it. We didn't crate him this morning and he did really well! The big test will be tomorrow. Eric is going to come home for lunch and play with him. I think he will do well though.

So, that's our big news. We are really excited! We know it's a big decision and responsibility but we are ready to put in the work to really make him a happy, balanced and well behaved dog. So, for all of you to understand just how ADORABLE he is... here are the pictures! :)
