Early Morning Thoughts....

It's 3:30 on Thursday morning and I can't sleep. I was sleeping... but I got up to potty, and my mind wouldn't stop. So here I am, sitting in the living room watching My Best Friends Wedding updating you guys on the life of the Bonsteads.

The most recent thing that has happened lately is that Eric's grandfather went home to be with our Lord. We new this time was coming, but we weren't ready for it to be this soon. I really can't think of the words to describe the effect this man had on my life in the short 4 and half years that I've been apart of this family. I had never seen or heard a man so focused on the Lord. It was such an amazing thing to hear him talk about our Lord, and to see that his life was so focused on walking the narrow path. Eric has told me many times how he was always such an encouragement to him. I'm thankful for the example that he was. I also have to say how much joy it gave me to watch Grandpa and Grandma together. Their love and care for each other after so many years often times brought tears to my eyes. It was true, selfless, love. I hope that we told them him enough how much we admire them, and that they are truly an inspiration to us. I'm so thankful that I got to meet and get to know this man, he was my adopted grandfather, and I loved him very much.

Please be praying for my mother-in-law and Eric's grandmother as they go through this time. I know that they are all relying on the Lord's strength, but he will be missed.

It's hard to move onto anything else after that... but I will try. The next big thing is that we have officially found a place to live and are packing up the 49th street house. It's been a long road to find a place that our Gus boy will be allowed. I've gone through a lot of emotions these last few months, and the Lord once again, needed to give me a "Trust in me" lesson. (Why do I have to go through that same lesson SOO many times... I guess I'm just too stubborn!) Well I am SOOO happy with where we ended up. Eric told me he kind of feels bad, because we are saving for a house, so we should be suffering and in something not as nice, but we are "saving in style" as Eric put it. It is a brand new construction duplex that is about 5 minutes closer to my work than where we are now. It has fake wood floors, granite counter tops, and a DISHWASHER and an ICE MAKER. I know, it's the little things in life that excite me! (but let me tell you, if you haven't had a dishwasher for a period of time, you know what I'm talking about! It's awful!) There is also a small fenced backyard for the Gus Man. Right now we have a fenced back yard, but it's not totally fenced and it's chain link, and the new place has privacy fencing. :) We are planing to move the day before Thanksgiving so that's in like 13 days... consider me excited!! I will miss a few things from the house we are in now... for that, be looking for an "Ode to 49th Street House" coming soon... an official goodbye to our first house.

They say time flies when your having fun (ok, ok I know it's corny but I couldn't think of another transition... it is 4:00 in the morning, cut me some slack) . Well this Sunday will be Eric and I's one year anniversary. I can't believe it's been a year already! It has been a wonderful year of growing together. We have had to make some big decisions and I am so blessed and honored that I have him to stand next to through the decisions and everyday joy of life! (I won't elaborate much, because I'll write a post on Sunday about all this, and read my last post... he is wonderful!) I just love that we have so much fun together! That even the silliest thing like cooking together, or driving somewhere, or even doing the dishes turns into a hilarious, fun time!

Other than that, school is good; my folks are good (please do pray for my dad though, he is going to see a surgeon about his knee on the 20th, I worry about his health a lot...) Gus boy (I'm sure he's your favorite Bonstead) is great! When we started this whole three month process of having our AMAZING friends watch him, I really thought that he would totally forget who we were. But he hasn't! We have been able to see him a lot more than I though... and he still loves us! I am looking forward to him having a more consistent routine with us though... I feel bad that he's been like a child we had weekend custody over. It will be nice to settle down with our cutie little pooch. Who isn't so little now, 50 pounds!

So, life is going good for the Bonsteads right now. I'm sorry it's been so long since I've updated. I tried to do one with pumpkin carving pictures and things like that.... but I got half way through and it got erased... so I gave up. But like promised, I want to start adding more pictures to the blog.

Ok, well I've been up for about an hour now, I think now that I have cleared my head a bit, maybe I'll try and go back to sleep. Thanks for caring and being excited for us everyone!
