Hello All.. I know it's been forever since an update. A lot has been going on, so I'm going to try and update through pictures. :) For my birthday, Eric surprised me with an iPhone. It was a pretty big deal cause I wasn't due for an update, he was. So he gave up his update to get me the iPhone and now he has to wait until October to get a new phone. It was really sweet. (I know, we totally live in the tech age when it's a sweet gesture to give up your phone upgrade!) So... here's the last few months in pictures.
We just had Eric's birthday! We are now BOTH 24! (Eric always gives me hard time the 30 days that I am older than him.) We had a great time celebrating with his folks on Thursday night and then we went to Roadhouse last night. This is him opening his present from me, with Gus' help. I had these special golf balls that he got from his grandfather framed in a shadow box. Then I also got him a new watch that he picked out. :) I think it was a great birthday!
A bit ago we went to the airshow. It was such a great day to spend with the one I love. We had a relaxing morning around the house, then went to have a yummy lunch, then ice cream, then we made it to the show. We had a blast!
We don't leave Gus outside much when we're not home. I think it stems from my fear of him getting out, running off and us loosing him. (That happened to so many of my dogs growing up) A few Sundays ago, we decided that it was a beautiful day, and we were just going to be gone for a few hours, so we put his water bowl and toys out and let him enjoy some sunshine. When we got home I went to let him inside and he wasn't laying where he normally does. Eric went to the door, and told me to stay inside... this is what he saw.
Well, we don't have a shovel and I wasn't about to let Eric shoot it, so we called the cops. By the time they got here it had crawled back to the creek that is behind our house. The cop said it was most likely a rat snake and that it wasn't harm full to big dogs or humans. Still.... I'm not a fan of snakes!
Mothers Day has come and gone. We hosted for the second year and it was wonderful! I had a blast setting up the table and getting to use my new polka dot dishes. :) I made lasagna, veggies and these yummy (easy) Parmesan rolls. We had both sets of parents and my grandma and Eric's grandma. I think a good time was had by all. :) Every time we all get together it just reminds me how blessed we are to be surrounded by such a wonderful family! :)
Gus Man. I know this is who y'all really care about! He's doing great! We weighed him this morning, and the scale said he was 80 pounds!!! Now, that can not be right, but we did it multiple times! He is pretty thick, not fat, but muscly! Our little baby has grown up! He's still keeping us laughing! I love this little dog and I can't imagine our lives without him now! :)
I was going to try and upload a video of Gus playing with the water hose chasing the water. But, it won't work! I think that is his favorite pass time now, helping Dad wash the car and trying to catch that water! :)
The Big News.... I will no longer be working for Rogers ISD come this fall. I got a job with Belton, teaching 1st grade, at Tyler! For those of you that don't know, Tyler was where I did my student teaching and had such a wonderful experience. Ever since then it has been my goal and desire to get back there. Now, I have to say how much I have LOVED my time with Rogers. I have learned so many things, met so many wonderful friends, and was allowed to find my teaching style. I truly believe that the Lord wanted me to be there for these last two years. But it is time to more on. Belton is where our family is, where UMHB is, where we want to buy a home, and where we want to raise our family. So to say that I am now a Belton Tiger makes me so happy and proud!
Oh, and that is a picture of some artwork my kids did. They are butterflies made out of coffee filters and egg cartons. :)
So, I guess that's my update. I hope everyone has had a good couple of months. I'm so excited and ready for the summer. Just 6 more days of school! I feel like the Lord has blessed our little family so much! Our lives are so full of joy and we are surrounded by such amazing friends and family. I am just very thankful, the Lord is good!
