So in the 8 months since I last wrote we've had a few fun events happen.
First Year of BISD
I officially finished my first year in Belton, and first year in first grade. It was a blast! The first few months were a bit overwhelming. The teaching time between Belton and Rogers was HUGE. I just had more time with the kids and more expected of me (which is what I wanted). I also had to get used to a new lesson planning system, new curriculum, and not to mention a new grade! After a few months I got back into my teaching grove and honestly felt I have never taught better! I also had a fantastic teaching partner to walk through the year with! We kept each other grounded and laughing! My kids this year were fantastic! I am really going to miss this group, but I think I end up saying that every year. I've already spent a few days this summer in my classroom getting things ready and I'm starting to get excited for next year. :) It will be nice to know what to expect.
The BIG News
So we have been going through the house hunting process for a good couple of years now. When we first got Gus and realized we couldn't stay in the house we were renting, we thought we would buy. Well we weren't ready. The Lord used certain people to show us this and stopped us from making a very bad decision. While that was a very difficult thing for us to hear and accept, that we weren't ready to buy, I am now so thankful. Well fast forward a year and a half. We are living in the duplex with our sweet puppyman (who is now 85 pounds!), have saved up the down payment we wanted to make and are looking. Through the process we ended up looking in the Cayon Creek Area (always thought we would end up in Belton, but for our first house this makes so much more sense and I'm so glad we are here!) We found this AMAZING two story. I had had my eye on it for a while. It was on the market forever, and the sellers had just dropped the price when we came to look at it! From the moment we walked in I knew it was for us! It just felt so homey, I LOVED the floor plan and it was a two story! For those of you that don't know I grew up in a two story and love them! Now it isn't perfect, the kitchen is blue, blue tile and counter top so we are hoping to eventually change that, and all the bathrooms are a bit out dated. BUT the living room already had wood floors (a must for me) and the fire place was just what we were looking for! It has a great sized back yard and front yard for that matter. Well, I'll just show you.
I've already made this post too long. But I'll be back to show you some before and after pictures of how we've decorated. I have loved the process of making this house our home. I love that we will be able to grow into it as our family grows. I just couldn't be happier with where we ended up. The Lord is so good to us!
